[ waking up to life going back to how it was two years ago would be a nightmare. And it's one that Jinwoo often fears as well, having to check his phone sometimes, just to make sure this life isn't just some illusion that the order's made in order to make them compliant. But then it's mornings like these, where he's nudged awake by the slightest of movements from his fiance who sleeps ever close to him. The sound of her gentle breath, the touch of fingers that should be rough from years of battle--and yet, every touch is kind.

almost unconsciously, he finds himself leaning into that touch, groggily, as his fingers slide over the side of his own face--trying to sleepily catch the fingers that are playing with his hair. he... misses utterly, instead grabbing one of his own horns. oops.

yeah he definitely meant to do that.
his shoulders start to shake as he's more than sure she saw him do that--and the best thing to do to save face is to laugh, right. ]

Mmm. You need to lotion your fingers, they feel rough today. [ nailed it. ]

[ There's a blink when she notices him moving, an apology on the tip of her tongue as her fingers pause - only to blink when he misses his mark completely and grabs his own horn. Golden eyes stare at him for a moment, silently processing, before she finds herself giggling along with him; a soft and gentle sound, still tinged with sleepiness.

Yeah, he totally meant to do that. ]

Oh, is that so? [ Her own hand shifts further up to his, squeezing his own gently. ] If they feel that rough, maybe I shouldn't touch you at all then...

[ aha. gotcha. as soon as she shifts her hand to touch him, he can switch his grip from his horn to curl his fingers around Lapis', pulling them down just an inch so he can turn his head and plant a kiss to the center of her palm. ]

You're a tactical genius, and yet you fell entirely for my trap. [ yeah that was totally his plan from the beginning. 100%. ] I suppose I shouldn't scold you, given you put your guard down completely around me and all.

[ there's a curl of his lips against her palm, a smirk hidden by her own stolen hand. ]

[ There's a soft sound as his hand curls around hers, a blink followed by another little giggle escaping her at the kiss to her palm. She has been caught and now she shall accept her oh-s terrible fate, fingers brushing against his cheek in response. ]

Ah, it seems I've been caught. [ Absolutely what he had planned. But it is enough to cause a faint flush on her cheeks and for her smile to brighten. ]

You did catch me at my most vulnerable... Though maybe that's what I intended all along. Maybe you have me right where I want to be.

[ And she shifts in even closer, just enough to gently bump her forehead against his. ]

Ah. You fell for it on purpose... I always knew you were an evil mastermind.

[ his delivery of this line is so lazy, he almost sounds like he's falling back asleep. But honestly, who could blame him? He's got someone very warm pressed against him with the voice that'd lull anyone into a sense of relaxation; it's easy to find himself drifting back into a sleepy stupor, even as she bumps her head against his.

He returns the action with a sleepy nuzzle, his eyes already closing.

But the curse of being parents comes with the fact that once certain children know you're awake, they make it their problem.
Which is exactly what happens as he shifts to nuzzle in a little closer to Lapis, aiming to trap her for another 10 minutes of dozing...

instead, he has to let out a startled yelp as a feathery little meteorite divebombs himself right between lapis and jinwoo--nestling his ruff of purple-black feathers right between their faces like that's where he goes.

A moment later, a cluster of stars and chirps will follow, bounding her way up the bed to bounce on lapis' hip, excitedly.

So much for their extra ten minutes of sleep.

Jinwoo has to do his best not to sneeze.
Which means he's going to sneeze directly into the poor little murkrow's side. ]

Mmhm, truly a devious plan...

[ Her own voice is gentler than usual too, sleep still clinging to her eyelids as she keeps herself curled against him; she's comfortable and warm and his voice is so soothing and making it all the more tempting to just closer her eyes again. A soft yawn escapes her as she returns the nuzzle, a content little hum following as she finds herself drifting again... Maybe a few more minutes won't hurt -

- Except the children have other ideas. While there's no yelp, Lapis does tense and blink in surprise as a certain bundle of feathers dives in right between them. And then lets out a quiet "oof" as the chirping little nebula bounces on her hip; that's enough to force her to push herself up a bit as she's startled into wakefulness. Sleeping in will have to come another day...

But she finds it hard not to smile at how excited they are, reaching over to cradle Azzurra to her chest as she sits up properly; watching with clear amusement when Haneul reacts to Jinwoo's sneeze with a surprised squawk and flapping his wings even more at his father. Father why you sneeze at him he's a good boy! Father!! Father!!! ]

Good morning you two... Though you might end up smothering your dad, Haneul.
