[ Ever since the Red Gate, in between moments they've spent together, Lapis has been hard at work on something.

She's not said a word of it to Jinwoo of what it could be, which may make it obvious that it's for him, but it's definitely related to some of the Essence Stones she collected before they left. Said it would make a good "ore" for what she had in mind, but she would immediately clam up when asked what it would be for.

So she drafted and crafted and used all the skills she's learned over the last couple of years at the forge to create something she's proud of. Something that she hopes will help him in the future. And when it's finally done... Well, she needs to think of the best way to give it to him.

Except she's terribly awkward and terribly nervous about this. It's the first time she's made... anything like this, and there's the lingering fear that it won't be enough. That she needs to do better.

So one afternoon, when it's just the two of them, Lapis will plop herself next to him on the couch and hold a rather hefty wooden box out to him - ignore how her tail is twumping nervously against the floor, she's totally fine! ]

Here, this... I've been meaning to make this for a while, and I finally had the material and skill to do it.

[ When Jinwoo opens the box he'll find a particular dagger, crafted from Essence Stone and dabbled in whites and purples, resting against the velvet lining. Rather than the simple accessories she's made before, it's clear this is a weapon he can wield.

And while Lapis does wait for his reaction, she also can't stop herself from just... rambling. For a moment. ]

I, ah, managed to imbue it with a regeneration ability, so it should heal you really quick! There's also a telekinetic ability and I added some light element to it so it can allow you to create mirages too. And the gems I've attached should help you move faster and hit harder...

[ And she quickly notices what she's doing, her cheeks immediately flushing red as she ducks her head down. ]

[ he's watching some sort of show on his beautiful huge screen. Some sort of korean film--it involves some sort of ghost in some guy's house, it's hard to tell at first glance.

All of his attention IMMEDIATELY flies off of the TV as Lapis suddenly appears, though, his eyes flicking up to look at her face--take in her expression which lacks its usual confidence or playful muse. She's nervous about something, and even he can see that--even if it takes him a moment to register the box she's holding out to him.

He reaches to take it--pausing for a moment, wanting to pause the TV for a second before remembering that fucking Jolene stole his remote--but then deciding to just let the show play for now as he decides the box is more important and the TV can be ignored. Lapis' voice is way easier to listen to. ]

--Ha? [ he says in a soft, enquiringly curious tone. He still carried many of the gifts Lapis gave him--a necklace she'd made for him ages ago still looped around his neck--but this was bigger. The box was heavier, and he can't help the excitement that overtakes him. He loves treasure--something he'd not quite been able to shake from his past life, and he's carefully opening the box without another question. ]

--This is...!

[ his eyes take in every inch of the blade presented to him. On soft, velvety plush, as if it was delicate to the touch or something--the object is... honestly, one of the most beautiful things he'd ever seen. His eyebrows going up as he carefully reaches to pick it up. He knows in an instant that it's just as sturdy as his venom fang--maybe sturdier--? And the blade itself is lightweight and has a comfortable grip. It's a near perfect-weapon: and the appearance of it is breathtaking.

He realises Lapis has been rambling, and while he's only half-heard some of the things she's said due to the pure awe of what he was holding, he immediately reaches out to touch her shoulder. To bring her to earth. ]

Lapis.

[ he speaks her name low, and clear--to get her attention as she turns her face away; blushes-- and he can't help but to chuckle. ]

Lapis, this is the most beautiful weapon I've ever seen.
You've been working so hard, training under Blade...

I haven't seen a knife as gorgeous as this in my life. ...Even in my past life. None of the daggers he had were as cool as this.

And the effect...

[ regeneration?? healing was never something HE had--and now he had it simply by holding onto this? ]

Did you really say Telekinesis?

[ he sounds like a kid at Christmastime. ]

[ The touch to her shoulder and his voice immediately grounds her, her head lifting as she blinks at him with a quiet, soft rumble. There's still that lingering anxiety; she always fretted whenever she made something, always worrying that maybe she'll fail or won't make something as good as they deserve.

And she really does want him to have the best. So there's immediate relief when he calls the knife "gorgeous", her nerves starting to ease as she manages a sheepish smile - to hear she's given him something better, than what he had before...

It really is such a relief. And now the nervous thumping of her tail switches to gentle wagging, as she allows herself to feel proud of what she's made. Seeing just how in awe he is makes her feel a little silly, for being so nervous. ]

Aha, I'm... really glad to hear that. I figured if I was going to finally make a dagger for you, I wanted the design to be a little more personal too.

[ Something with elements from both the creator and the wielder.

And hearing just how excited he is about the effects she's added has her giggling softly, the last of her worries starting to fade away completely. ]

I did, yes. You can move other things while holding the dagger, and you'll even be able to recall the dagger back after throwing it. I made sure to test that.

Even if you did mention you were going to make me a knife a long time ago, I think I was happy every time you brought me your other little projects anyway. All of them are pretty important to me. [ like how he still wears the crow scarf in winter, despite its handmade fashion, or any little runs in it from the years of use by now. ]

But this is... special. It's like an amalgamation of all your months of training. It's... honestly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. And you made it? Look at it.

[ he turns it over in his hands, thumbing along the handle, where the deep color meets the lighter color, how it sparkles even in the low light of his living room. ]

And then there's the spells you've fused with it. They're all incredibly thoughtful.

As much as I love the idea of creating illusions or finally being able to heal myself a little... do you know what's the most important thing for me, here?

It's ... probably life changing, for someone like me.

[ he flashes her a little bit of a blank look--he knows FOR FACT that she'd given him the skill so he could recall thrown blades, but. She has no idea what his mind actually drifted towards, does she? ]

Never again will I spill a coffee or drop my keys down a drain. [ THAT'S THE BIGGEST LIFE CHANGE HERE. ] The ability to catch things mid-air? And bring them to me?

I've never needed a skill more in my life.

[ That... does make her cheeks burn a little red again. She has seen how he still uses and wears the things she's made before, even after all this time - and she's always touched every time she sees that.

And she turns even more red as he praises her work; she is very weak to praise, especially from someone she cares about, so she can't help but smile a little more as her tail wags harder against the floor. It's impossible not to feel giddy at how much he seems to like her creation, warmth filling her chest now as she resists the urge to just... hum happily. But there's a little sway to her now, clearly very pleased.

Lapis very rarely feels proud of herself and anything she does or makes, but now she lets herself bask in the feeling.

Only to then blink when he mentions about something being life changing, head tilting as she wonders what he means. Is telekinesis really that important -

Oh, that's why.

And then she ends up giggling anyway, shoulders shaking as she clears her throat and nods. Ah yes, of course, that would make a big difference for him. ]

As long as you have the dagger, you can do that! I think the weight limit is... around a person? Nothing bigger than that.

[ She holds and waves her hands apart in some... close approximation. ]

So you can catch multiple keys and coffees.

[ he's still grinning a little silly for a moment, his lips slowly curling with a look of mischief on his face. His eyes remain half-lidded with that ever-serious look on his face as he considers his shiny new dagger. Taking a moment to spin it between his hands --an action he'd not do back when his luck was as bad as it was, but with Lapis nearby it's fine.

He then clicks his teeth in a grin... ]

[ and flicks his wrist, pointing at Lapis, and causing her to suddenly rise up and float in mid-air. ]

--Hoh.

It works...!

[ Hmmm... Something is afoot. While she is still very pleased that he likes the dagger so much, she can see that mischief too.

But she notices a little too late. ]

Ah-!

[ And up she goes! She blinks owlishly for a good moment, before huffing with a pout as she floats here. ]

O-of course it does! I should've expected you would test it on me...

[ She says, not sounding upset in the slightest. ]

I could have tested it out on other things, but. I'd hate to float something that could easily get broken.

The way I see it, I'm testing it on something that's a good size... and extremely durable. Honestly, you should be complimenting me.

...

[ he's gonna readjust his grip, a little, because as he finds himself laughing, he almost drops her. Shit, fuck. ]

--Ah.

This takes a lot more concentration than I thought...

Hmm... I can compliment you when you put me down.

[ Is that a flirt or a threat? Yes.

Her expression is as calm as always, though there is a muffled 'pfft' when his concentration wavers. ]

And you better not drop me either.

[ Though then she looks a little more thoughtful, a finger tapping against her chin now. ]

It is a new skill, so it will take some time to get used to it... And I guess you can use me to help practice.
